Is there anything better than a good friends with benefits romance? I mean it just sounds sinfully delicious, doesn't it? It's been a long dry stretch for Nina as she's gun-shy after some bad breakups. She's ready to dip her toes back into the water, but only for sex.

Carter is the college campus stud - a real hottie that women desire and men envy. He's mister love 'em and leave 'em begging for more.

Who could have known Carter had his eye on hot Is there anything better than a good friends with benefits romance? Who could have known Carter had his eye on hot, little green-eyed Nina for anything more than a romp in the hay? Not her, for sure. After a crazy night of drinking, they wake up naked in the same bed, and an agreement to be friends with benefits is signed, sealed, and delivered.

What will happen when they both venture across the line, breaking their own rules?

Friends With Benefits is a charming, sassy, emotional rollercoaster for both readers and these characters. Told through alternating first-person pov chapters, readers get inside each character's head while they are both in the dark as to what the other is thinking.

What ensues is a series of misunderstandings and miscommunications leading to hidden feelings and mixed signals that greatly increase the danger of someone getting hurt. While this can be an overdone trope, Kelly keeps the emotions real and the action moving with a lot of witty banter, sizzling sexual encounters, and inner emotional turmoil.

The result is a relatively low-angst, yet highly entertaining romance featuring two well-fleshed out, likeable characters that are easy to pull for. Friends With Benefits is a flirty, emotionally-charged Must Read! I loved it!

I'm not going to make all my decisions in this life based on a promise that sounds too good to be true. This was a pretty good read. Two people hooking up and hiding it from their friends. Both of them catching feelings, but neither one of them wants to admit it.

Basically my favorite trope and everything I live for in new adult. The two mains have a deep connection and the naughty bits really reflect that. Super steamy. All in all an enjoyable new adult read with the secret screw buddies trope. May 07, Katerina rated it it was ok. This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers. To view it, click here. Paraphrasing he says that they should end this experiment, see other people, were never really together to begin with. She was coming to tell him she was falling for him, of course. Where the change in attitude came a month later, I have no clue. During the wedding this is a conversation between her parents and him: I leaned back against the pew and prayed for the music to start. I snapped my head towards Carter. On top of that there was this weird KKK reference in the book, and just the whole thing left a bad taste in my mouth.

Dec 26, Zoe rated it really liked it. Romantic, cute, and delightfully steamy! Friends with Benefits is a lighthearted, entertaining rom-com featuring the fun-loving, weary, Nina and the confident, cocky, Carter as they discover they might just be perfect for each other and actually want more than just a few benefits on the side. The writing is effortless and fluid.

The characters are hesitant, charming, and endearing. Overall, I would have to say that Friends with Benefits is a quick, adorable, passionate read by Kelly that has an amusing storyline, engaging characters, and a happy-ever-after ending that will make you smile. Thank you to Hazel Kelly for providing me with a copy in exchange for an honest review. Nina has an itch that needs scratching and her friends think she needs to sort out a FWB arrangement, some nice casual sex with no ties.

Then one night everything changes and he cannot believe his luck when Nina spends the night with him.

Yes, he has been a player since he got to college but Nina is definitely different, she is not really a one night stand girl. However, she has some rules she puts in place. When jealousy comes into play too both of them have pause to doubt. Are they getting too serious and when did casual turn into something more? Carter thinks he finally has found the girl of his dreams but does she feel the same way as he does?

This was my lazy Saturday morning reading in bed indulgence. It was a fun, light hearted romance set in a college environment, with plenty of laugh out loud moments. May 18, Carmen Rae rated it really liked it Shelves: This story is your classic new adult, college romance story and it was exactly what I needed to break up all the angsty, emotional drama I have been reading lately.

I am a big fan of the whole manwhore getting his arse kicked by love thing. And this was that to a T. Nina was such a sweetheart but she made all the classic stupid girl mistakes that drive me a little crazy. And while I understood that she was trying to prevent getting her heart broken I just wanted to shake her and tell her to use This story is your classic new adult, college romance story and it was exactly what I needed to break up all the angsty, emotional drama I have been reading lately.

And while I understood that she was trying to prevent getting her heart broken I just wanted to shake her and tell her to use her big girl words. They do with few exceptions think mostly with their little head and Carter wasn't one of the exceptions. And honestly if this book wasn't written in dual points of view I would have hated it.

But getting to know them both and what they were thinking and feeling I was able to forgive them both their stupidity and hope that they would set aside their pride and actually let the other know what they were feeling. But then as I said this was a typical new adult, college romance and I got exactly what I expected and it was exactly what I needed and having seen the blurb for the next book I am looking forward to Sadie and who I am assuming is Carter's brother's story.

I feel like everything happened in perfect momentum. All in all, I really enjoyed this fun romance and found the book to be quite steamy. If you enjoy romances where two friends come together for mutual pleasure then this is your book! I always find this "friends with benefits" trope to be fun especially because we all KNOW that it will lead to much more. It's the journey we take with them to get there that makes it that much more exciting!

I took a chance. It was a good read. Two friends hiding their relationship behind their friends. My only issue was I wish there had been more of a story line.

Okay, this book is HOT. First of all. While the premise of this book is not a new one the whole "let's just be friends and fool around and we will both promise not to get emotionally attached, but then we end up getting emotionally attached" scenario , what I loved the most about THIS version of the trope is the amount of emotion Hazel made me feel, especially the latter part of the book. I also loved the dialogue.

Friends With Benefits Romance

The snarky back-and-forth Carter and Nina had was my kind of humor, my kind of tone, and I thoroughly enjoyed how they would joke with each other. They had the feeling of truly liking each other, not just wanting to get into each others' pants. If you like college romances, he will be one of your favorites, too! For me, she may be one of those authors whose synopses I don't even read, I just know that if they wrote it, the book will be phenomenal, regardless of the story line.

Flirty, angsty and a swoon worthy forever after, Hazel Kelly brings it all to the pages with Friends with Benefits book two in her Beta Brothers series! It is always nice to read a work that deals with universal relationship issues and moves them beyond generic. Hazel Kelly did a great job of writing a book that while filled with charm tackled her characters vulnerabilities and hopes in a way that made Friends with Benefits an entertaining read that went beyond superficial.

Carter's reputation as Flirty, angsty and a swoon worthy forever after, Hazel Kelly brings it all to the pages with Friends with Benefits book two in her Beta Brothers series! Carter's reputation as a player served him well until it prevented the one girl he was truly interested in from taking him seriously.

Nina had bad luck in relationships to the point that she was beginning to think attracting cheaters was part of her genetic makeup. These leads shared more in common than their outer facades revealed and were ultimately two lonely people terrified to risk being hurt, resorting to the boundaries of "friends with Benefits" to avoid heartache.

Carter and Nina were easy to develop a reader rapport with. Each character brought an element of likability to the story.

What started off as a fling with no commitment rapidly became a lot more as the leads each tried to decipher the feelings they were developing for each other. The self-sabotaging that each party brought into the mix as their insecurities started to surface was carried out skillfully by this author. Kelly with insight and a lot of steam was able to evolve these characters from the consequences of their mistakes in a believable manner.

Friends with Benefits was the right mix of fun and serious showing off Hazel Kelly's tremendous talent for a great read! May 11, Elizabeth rated it it was ok Shelves: I didn't know till I was finished, or I prob wouldn't have even touched this one. The hero in this book was lightyears better than the one in the other book, which wasn't hard to do! Story wise it was a typical former manwhore, and the girl who tries to resist him.

He was a manwhore before he knew her and before she was even at college, it was implied he hadn't been with anyone since he met her, it wasn't totally clear but I chose to take it that way. I got a little kick out of the fact he immediately wanted more, and she didn't totally. He didn't know how to handle it, so I appreciated that vulnerability he had. What kind of killed it for me was their angst was built on miscommunication, neither would tell the other how they felt, so of course he got in his feelings and cruelly dismissed her, and then expected her to just forgive him when he got his head out of his ass.

Nothing new here so that is why I didn't rate it higher. Nov 20, Three Chicks rated it really liked it. Review by Lisa Kane Carter has hidden his feelings for Nina ever since he first met her. He's a bit of a player, but if she would give him a sign that she was the least interested in him, his player ways would be a thing of the past. Nina hasn't had much luck in her relationships. She's still hurting and doesn't want a relationship. But she does want a little fun under the covers.

She's always thought Carter is hot but he's a junior with a ton of experience, she's a freshman and pretty innocent compared to him. She has no idea that he is so into her. The opportunity for the two of them to hook up comes along and they suddenly are friends with benefits. It's going to stay casual and no one's going to get hurt.

He's wanted to be with Nina all along, but he knows she's content to just keep things physical. He's the one who wants more. As sweet as he is, he's a man and we all know that means he's going to screw up. And he does. Will Nina forgive him?

This was a cute read, and it's not necessary to read book 1 to understand and catch on to the other character's histories. Jan 10, Linda rated it it was amazing.
