I thought the material covered was the best I've seen in a while, but it did go rather quickly and there doesn't seem to be much in the way of problems students can fall back on to gauge varying degrees of comprehension. Also missing are applications where this information will be useful either now or later.

Just needs to go a bit slower. The use of MultiSim was very good as well. The most important missing bit of information I saw was that the author didn't use KVLs to complete the problems he wanted the student to find unknowns with. Accuracy rating: 5 I found no errors in the book, nor any typos.

Fundamentals of Electrical Circuit Analysis

It was nice to browse through a book that seems to be written by one individual instead of many. Already has with few exceptions. Clarity rating: 4 Was a bit too wordy and seemed overwhelming to browse with the associated on-line materials.

Perhaps the actual book is better. Current and voltage laws have different applications, but the author explains all the things to be aware of with these laws.

Of course, the quirks are intuitive once you master these laws, but they are central to any circuit analysis. We follow up then with more concrete tools for network Analysis, namely Nodal analysis in chapter 3, and Mesh Analysis in chapter 4.

The first one uses the current Kirchhoff law, whereas the latter one uses the voltage law. Both have limitations in the way they can be used, but they are the iteration over the basis laws that can allow simpler analysis.

Chapter 5 takes kind of detour to talk about equivalence between current and voltage generators.

We move on to the sixth chapter, dedicated to transient analysis. We get the introduction of capacitors and coils, with their dedicated equations, but always with constant currents or voltages.

In this chapter, we start having the concept of complex numbers that will help handling linear time filters. There are more components that are relevant in circuit analysis, like transformers or transistors.

They are considered almost as perfect transistors are not using Ebers-Moll or anything more complex, just the simple affine piecewise approximation. We also of course have diodes and OpAmps. The last three chapters are just teasers, I would say.Customers who bought this item also bought.

Sorry, this product is currently unavailable. I used this book for a course on 'Circuit Theory' and found that the book had the right amounts of everything needed to help the student get feel of electric circuit analysis.
